REFLEXIVE PEACE PRACTICE (RPP) PROJECT

Summary

A major ISM incursion into Niassa province resulted in an attack on a hunting camp in Marrupa district that killed two staff members and destroyed tourism infrastructure valued at $3.5 million. Approximately 2,700 people were displaced, though the Niassa Secretary of State reported they were returning home by 07 September. ISM claimed responsibility through its propaganda channels, also claiming to have decapitated a "Christian" in a Macomia attack. In Mocímboa da Praia, ISM abductions continued, with estimates ranging from 6 children to 50 women taken from two neighborhoods. FADM operations continued but ISM maintained the upper hand in rural maneuverability.
