No new armed clash inside Burkina Faso was independently confirmed this week, but on 29 July CIVICUS Monitor added Burkina Faso to its international Watchlist, documenting that at least 1,174 civil society organizations have been suspended or dissolved and that all political parties have been abolished. Torrential rains on 28–29 July also destroyed bridges and cut roads in the Cascades and Hauts-Bassins regions, per a national daily. The score remains critical because no new mass-casualty security incident was confirmed, but the CIVICUS finding, corroborated by six independent outlets, is a major negative marker for civic and political space.
