REFLEXIVE PEACE PRACTICES (RPP) PROJECT
Two active conflicts continued without de-escalation: Boko Haram/ISWAP violence in the Far North (ISWAP elements again attacked government forces at Sagmé on 28–29 Sept) and the ten-year-old separatist conflict in the North-West/South-West, where the 1 October “independence” anniversary traditionally brings lockdowns and heightened security operations. More than 18,000 people were displaced around Waza by late September, with shortages of water, latrines, food and shelter.
